Relationships are tricky things and, for many of us, relationships can turn sour. In the hopes of keeping things together, some couples will take up relationship therapy which does help. However often times the sessions aren’t enough and people regardless will need to do other things to make relationships last. In that event, there’s been a number of authors who have put together some amazing books to help relationships. Below are a few books that you can pick up to keep a relationship together or even strengthen a relationship if it’s already good.
The first book we recommend is “The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts.” In this particular book, Dr. Gary Chapman explains the main issue in relationships that we all deal with is communication. For sure, there can be verbal miscommunication, but Dr. Chapman explores different types of languages we express to show our love for our partner. He breaks them into five “love languages” that go as follows: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. In the book, Dr. Chapman is able to show us how each section has different needs and how each one, when addressed properly, can help grow and strengthen a relationship. The book also contains a questionnaire to identify which love language you have. It also poses questions and gives answers throughout the book and even provides a section for you to write things down for future consideration.
Another good book is by Dr. Bethany Marshall called “Deal Breakers: When to Work On a Relationship and When to Walk Away.” It’s a book that focuses on emotionally unhealthy men and prompts you to examine the people in your life and the patterns you repeat. The goal here is to help you realize whether a relationship can live or whether it’ll die. The foundation of this book is based on people’s overall willingness to change or in some cases the chances of them continuing the same bad habits. In the end, this book helps women find what are their deal breakers and when they should move on.
Finally, we have a book by Marko Petkovic who wrote “47 Little Love Boosters For a Happy Marriage: Connect and Instantly Deepen Your Bond No Matter How Busy You Are.” Whether the relationship you have has been going on for decades or it’s just starting, this book is great for couples who struggle to keep romance and passion going. The book touches on the success of other couples and uses their examples to model the ideal relationship you could have as well. What’s also amazing about this book is the techniques that are outlined in the book literally take a few minutes every day. Petkovic calls these techniques “Little Love Boosters for a Happy Marriage” because that’s literally what they do. When you apply them continuously they boost the love and the bond that you and your partner share. They are also very easy to perform. Again they take literal minutes.
With the help of these books, you can revolutionize your love life for the better. Pick up these books some time and apply them. Better yet, share them with your partner.
