Ellen Degeneres is a known name in the global entertainment industry. She is an American comedian, television host, actress, writer, producer, and LGBT activist, who first started as a stand-up comedian in the early 1980s. Her stellar career (which also includes acting) has spanned a 1986 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson as well as roles in movies such as Mr. Wrong (1996), EDtv (1999), and The Love Letter (1999), and provided the voice of Dory in the Pixar animated films Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016). For her efforts in Finding Nemo, Ellen won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2003.

Perhaps, Ellen’s major TV accomplishment has been hosting The Ellen Degeneres Show, an American television tabloid comedy talk show, since September 8th, 2003. Since its debut, The Ellen Degeneres show has won numerous awards including 59 Daytime Emmy Awards as of 2017, six Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment Awards as well as 17 People’s Choice Awards. On January 4, 2016, producers announced that the show had been renewed for three additional seasons through 2020.

Ellen, on her talk show, is famed for pulling surprises out of the bag for her guests, who usually have no inkling what moves Ellen has in store for them. In this edition, Ellen hosted famous rapper, singer and music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

When Ellen asked him if the rumor making the rounds that he was terrified of clowns was true, the rapper boasted the rumors were 100 percent fake news. He gave his answer in the following words: ‘No. Impossible,” he said. “Because I’m a black man. I have so many other things to be fearful of. A clown is not going to scare me. I’m not afraid of clowns.’

As the pair continued to chat, a clown popped out of a nearby box to the rapper and straight into his face. Sean’s reaction included jumping out of his seat in fright and performing some unusual Kung Fu-themed dance steps to deal with the tension from the surprise.

Ellen and the audience erupted in rapturous laughter even as the rapper took some time to settle down from the anxious moment.
